“I created Noire Gayze after being attacked three times in one day over an August Bank Holiday weekend. I quickly realised there was nowhere specifically for Black and POC Queer people in Liverpool and I wanted to create a space that amplified and celebrated these voices.”
KOLADE T LAPIDO
Noire Gayze is an inclusive platform for Black and other people of colour who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. The founder, Kolade T Ladipo, a talented actor, dancer and creative based in Liverpool, set up Noire Gayze in response to a series of homophobic attacks against them. Following these horrendous attacks, Kolade quickly realised that a space for people who shared similar experiences was missing from Liverpool. Created as a space focused on amplifying and celebrating intersectionality within the LGBTQ+ community, Noire Gayze offers club nights, exhibitions, panels, community outreach, and a soon-to-be-launched magazine.
