🌈 Queer Places: The Exhibition 🌈
✨ Launch Event - 24th of May
👀 Exhibition open - 3rd of June - 30th of November
Join us for the exhibition of Queer Places - a growing archive of Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ Spaces: Past, Present & Future.
After the first sold-out event as part of Homotopia Festival 2023, we are excited to be sharing with you an immersive space filled with art, architectural models, photographs and artefacts - all celebrating Liverpool's iconic LGBTQ+ spaces.
With thanks to Unit3 Design Studio for hosting us and Liverpool Architecture Festival for featuring us as part of their 2024 festival, we will be celebrating the evening with art, drinks and a boogie with Liverpool's Asian Sensation, Dan Chan on the decks. Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about queer heritage, connect with like-minded individuals and support our lovely community.
The exhibition will then be open to the public from the 3rd of June until the 30th of November 2024, Monday - Friday
You will also be able to purchase the beautifully curated Queer Places book, designed by artist, Luke Fawcett. All proceeds of the booklet will fund the future of Queer Places - where we already have planned community workshops, artist collaborations and further research.
Thank you for your support and follow us on Instagram @queerplaces to see what we are getting up to!
See you there!
🌈 Queer Places: Workshops 🌈
We are excited to share with you a space filled with art, poetry, scrapbooks and magical conversations ✨ - discussing queer memories and the art of archiving (yes, you heard that right). Once a month, you can meet the artist behind the project and even take part in a series of creative workshops, like poetry, scrap booking, zine making, model making and archiving. Over Liverpool pride weekend, we hosted two workshops and created some magical things! The first was a mapping queer memories workshop by artist, Luke Fawcett, where we explored ways of connecting to queer spaces, past and present through mapping, drawing and writing. The second was a poetry workshop crafted by the insanely talented Grace Tompkins and Hannah Kelly, exploring the art of poetry as a method of preserving queer memories and experiences ❤️
