Formed in 1994 by the merger of Merseyside AIDs Support Group and Mersey Body Positive (both running since the mid-1980s), Sahir House is Liverpool’s longest-running LGBTQIA+ charity. They established themselves in Rodney House and named the charity ‘Sahir’, an Arabic word meaning positive, which helped provide anonymity to those using the service. Today, they offer their services from 151 Dale Street, with most of their support services delivered in various spaces in and around Liverpool.

Do you have any memories of Sahir House that you would like to share with us? We'd love to hear from you!
