As the official starting point of the Queer Places Heritage Trail, FACT becomes a portal into queer memories and imagination. Here in the heart of the city, visitors gather, watch, and begin their journey through Liverpool’s queer past, present, and future.
The trail leaflet is available at FACT, offering a map, context, and a moment to pause before setting off.
Within the reception space, the films unfold as a living archive - digital, immersive, and deeply personal. They set the tone for a city-wide journey rooted in memory, place, and visibility.
While FACT regularly engages with queer stories through exhibitions, screenings and community events, its role in this trail offers something different. Here, the space becomes a gathering point - a place where queer narratives don’t just appear on screen, but begin to ripple outward into the streets, buildings, and stories that surround us.
